The importance of wearing ANSI rated safety glasses

Students must wear ansi approved safety glasses at all times while inside the workshop. Students who would like to earn extra credit may purchase their own pair and keep them inside of a locker (first come, first serve) outside the classroom.

SCHS Construction Program Industry Accreditation

Thank you to all my students who helped make this special recognition to the South Cobb High School Construction program attainable. You guys worked hard for this with me!

--------------------------

Dear Mr. Gilbert,

It is my pleasure to congratulate you for earning Stage II CEFGA/NCCER Accreditation for the Construction Program. The CEFGA Evaluation Committee validated the accreditation for South Cobb High School Construction Program through a vote of the members completed on November 27, 2009. This award, recognized by the construction industry, the National Center for Construction Education Research, and the Georgia Department of Education, represents extraordinary achievement in providing training in the construction field.

As a recipient of CEFGA Accreditation, your program is publicly recognized for attaining construction industry training standards. Students that complete NCCER instructional modules are eligible for training recognition through the NCCER National Registry. Transcripts, available from the NCCER, can be used to verify proficiency toward NCCER training objectives, to accompany employment applications, and to receive credit toward continued industry training after employment.

Again, congratulations for your commitment in pursuing program improvement and industry validation of your training program through CEFGA/NCCER Accreditation!
