I challenged my Core Fundamental students in 2009 to come up with the best lyrics & production of a song to represent what they had learned about safety in the Construction industry from Module 1 of the book. I am hoping that with 2 Fundamental classes this year, someone will out-shine all the others. We will vote on what group of students win.
Here is the winner of last years contest:
“Gilby’s Rappacore” 2009
Get ready to listen, turn up your speakers
This about safety and we here to teach ya…
Teacher told me “stop playing” I wouldn’t believe ya
Messed around… Now what the heck happened to my sneakers?
Playin’ on the scaffold sitting up high
Acting all stupid thinking he could fly
They told him he’d fall; he thought it was a lie
Messed around fell down, now I’m looking like this guy
When you in da shop wear protection at all times
Lose a toe, a finger, or even end up blind
So before it’s ya time u better be safe
Listen to dis line we about to say…
So no playing with hammers shaking hands with danger
Follow all instructions when we in construction
Don’t play around before ya life get a deduction
So be safe before ya end up with a concussion
